r.e.m. @ Stubb's

As r.e.m. catches a flight back across the Atlantic to ready themselves for performances in North and South America, just off the European leg of their Accelerate tour that concluded with a free show in Athens (Greece, that is), I thought back to their SXSW appearance in March, less than a month before the new record was released. The concert was streamed by NPR, and several live tracks from that spring night at Stubb's Bar-B-Q are still lingering in the ether, including Living Well Is the Best Revenge, Supernatural Superserious, Imitation of Life, and Accelerate (a link to an NPR podcast).

[I also found a link to a .rar file of the entire Stubb's show posted by someone at murmurs.com.]

Although the idea behind this site/blog is to help people find MP3 files, I'll make an exception in this post, and here's a streaming media link for NPR's Morning Edition show from March 24, 2008 -- R.E.M. Tackles Songs of Faith and Revenge. You can also find r.e.m.'s Austin City Limits show, recorded the night after their Stubb's set, here.

Additionally, you can also access the r.e.m. tour site for fan-generated images and video clips.
